Chris Carr and Jen Jordan win party nominations in Georgia primary for attorney general
Incumbent Republican Lawyer Normal Chris Carr defeated Donald Trump-backed John Gordon in Tuesday’s principal election, advancing to meet Democratic nominee Jen Jordan in the November typical election.
Carr, a Dunwoody Republican, received 73% of the vote in his attempt to gain a second comprehensive expression as legal professional typical. Carr was appointed in 2016 by then-Gov. Nathan Offer. He gained his 1st total term in 2018.
Gordon picked up Trump’s endorsement soon following getting into the race. The previous president has targeted Carr for remaining unwilling to help overturn the benefits of the 2020 election in Georgia.

In the Democratic most important, Jordan routed former Fulton County assistant district attorney Christian Smart Smith. Jordan, a state senator, gained 77% of the vote.
If elected, Jordan has vowed target on building a voting rights division in the lawyer general’s office, noting the condition has labored on creating it tougher to vote in its place of simpler.
