Hoffa to Retire Following 23-Year Vocation as Basic President

Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund Evening meal in Los Angeles to honor Teamsters Common President Jim Hoffa as he approaches the end of his final expression as the head of the 1.4 million-member union.

Prior to staying elected Common President, Hoffa worked as a Teamsters laborer in Detroit and Alaska in the 1960s. He then invested 25 several years as a labor legal professional representing members, community unions and Joint Councils. From 1993 till his inauguration as General President in 1999, Hoffa served as Administrative Assistant to the President of Joint Council 43 in Michigan.
Hoffa, who leaves at the rear of a highly effective legacy as just one of leading voices in labor this generation, formally retires on March 22, 2022 at the close of his expression.
